The Very First One
For the First Vow, the Groom promises the bride by saying: “om Esha ekapadi bhava iti prathaman”. It means that the groom will provide food and support to him. And he will cherish her and provide welfare and happiness to their children. The bride replies: “dhanam dhanyam pade vadet”.It means that she will be responsible for the home and all household, food, and finance responsibilities’. As per the marriage, astrology both promises each other prosperity by fulfilling their respective roles.
Promise of Love
For the Second Vow, the groom says: “om oorje jara dastayaha”. It means ‘Together we will take care of our home and children’. ‘The Bride in return promises “kutumburn rakshayishyammi sa aravindharam”’. You will love me solely’. I will be by your side always. I will be your courage and strength. This time they assure to rejoice in happiness. It is an absolute marriage prediction.
Promise to be Together Forever
After completing two vows they are asked to take the third vow. The Groom says, “om rayas santu joradastayaha”. He wishes to grow wealthy and prosperous. He wishes to good education for their children and wishes that may their children live long. In return, the Bride promises, “tava bhakti as vadedvachacha”. ‘I will love you for the rest of my life. Every other man in my life will be secondary’. This is important to have a positive marriage horoscope lifelong.
Wish to Have Good Children
During the Fourth Vow, the Groom declares “om mayo bhavyas jaradastaya ha”. He says that the bride has completed him. ‘May god bless us with good children’. The Bride says “lalayami cha pade vadet”. She means, ‘I will shower you with joy, from head to toe. I will strive to please you in every way I can’.
Reason for Life
For the Fifth Vow, the Groom says, “om prajabhyaha santu jaradastayaha”, He means that. ‘You have come into my life to enrich it. May God bless you’. In return for this, the Bride says, “arte arba sapade vadet”. ‘I promise to love and cherish you for as long as I live. Your happiness is my happiness, and your sorrow is my sorrow.’ She also assures him by saying ‘I will trust and honor you, and will strive to fulfill all your wishes’. Here both of the persons promise to take their spouse’s care.
Promise of Happiness
Then in the Sixth Vow, the Groom asks, “Rutubhyah shat padi bhava”. It means that ‘you have taken six steps with me; you have filled my heart with immense happiness. Will you fill my heart with happiness like this for all times?’. This makes the bride blush. The Bride replies, “yajna hom shash the vacho vadet”. Buy quoting this she says ‘I will always be by your side’.
The Acceptance
At the last but not the least, the seventh vow is taken. For the Last and Seventh Vow, the Groom says “Om sakhi jaradastayahga”, He declares that ‘We are now husband and wife, and are one. You are mine and I am yours for eternity.’ The bride accepts this and says “Attramshe sakshino vadet pade”, She says that ‘As God is the witness, I am now your wife. We will love each other forever.’
It is very pure to perform these rituals. It ties the people forever. All these promises are taken with absolutely pure heart.
